Surface treatment technology of die casting die
The performance and life of the die casting die can be greatly improved through the rigorous and reasonable technical treatment of the die casting die.
The surface treatment technology of die casting die can be divided into three major categories:
Traditional heat treatment technology improvement technology;
Surface modification technology, such as surface laser treatment technology;
Coating technology.
1. The traditional heat treatment technology is improved.
The traditional heat treatment process of die casting die is quenching tempering. The improved technology of the so-called traditional heat treatment technology is to combine quenching and tempering with advanced surface treatment technology.
For example, NQN (carbonitriding quenching carbonitriding combined Strengthening), the die surface hardness is higher, the internal strength is increased, the hardness gradient of the permeable layer is reasonable, the tempering stability and corrosion resistance are improved, and the comprehensive properties and service life are greatly improved.
2. Surface modification technology.
Surface modification technology refers to using physical or chemical methods to change the performance of mould surface. Generally speaking, there are two ways: surface heat, diffusion and surface laser treatment technology.
The surface heat, diffused and permeable technologies include carburizing, nitriding, boronizing, carbonitriding, sulfur carbonitriding and so on. Carburizing helps to strengthen the hardness of the surface of the die.
The carburizing process includes solid powder carburizing, gas carburizing, vacuum carburizing, and ion carburizing.
The vacuum carburizing and ion carburizing are fast, homogeneous, the carbon concentration gradient is gentle and the workpiece deformation is small.
The nitriding process is simple, the hardness of the die nitriding layer is high, the wear resistance is good, and it has good performance of anti sticking mold.
The surface performance of boronizing is the most obvious, and the mold hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and adhesion resistance are obviously improved, but the process conditions are harsh.
Laser treatment of die surface is a technology which has been developed in the past thirty years. It has two ways to improve the surface performance of the die.
One is laser melting mold surface molding, then then with carburizing, nitriding, coating and other technologies. Another method is to combine the laser treated surface technology with some metal auxiliary materials with better physical properties, and make it fit into the die surface of the die casting die.
3, coating technology.
The coating technology is coated on the surface of the coating in the mold to put on a layer of protective clothing, such as PTFE composite plating, the main purpose is to enhance the mold wear resistance, corrosion resistance and anti cold ability.
